After I met with my mother-in-law and found out that my husband had left me for another woman, I went home and called several investigators to get advice on catching him and her together. I discovered that the best first step would be to get a GPS device and place it in his car. In our state, the person placing the device in the car must be on the registration for that vehicle, otherwise it is illegal to do so. As it turned out, I was named on his vehicle registration and, therefore, could legally place it in his car. I probably would have placed it irregardless, but at least I was covered legally should he try to press charges once he found out what I was doing.
